The Montessori Newborn Class is a place where babies can practice freedom of movement with time-tested Montessori materials in an environment carefully prepared for their visual, motor, and cognitive development.

Parents in the class will learn about how to use the Montessori approach at home while getting to see it in action! In addition to creating opportunities for intellectual growth, movement development, and natural explorations, we will discuss sleep, weaning, playing with your baby, language development and reading to your baby, movement development, and supporting each step.

To ensure a consistent and optimal educational experience for all children in the class, we require that parents register for the full term.

Class Structure

Montessori Classes include gentle child-led play with Montessori activities, and a music circle at the end of class. Parents receive a themed handout weekly via email of the topic to be discussed in the following class. Topics of interest include:

• Montessori materials
• Social development
• Personality development
• Montessori parenting
• Aids to concentration & independence

The class is guided in English. This is a great way for babies to be introduced to a new language. A parent or other caregiver will attend the class with Baby. During the 1 hour class, carers are welcome to participate with the children and other parents and enjoy a free coffee or tea.
